Des Moines police are in the process of moving all operations except the dispatching center out of the riverfront station house. Police Officer Chuck Guhl said Police Chief Judy Bradshaw and Patrol Commander Maj. Richard Singleton have moved their offices to East High School. The entire police detective bureau also is being moved to the high school along with the narcotics section, planning and budget, office of professional standards, crime scene investigators, intelligence unit and the sex abuse unit. The police records sergeants and property management and impound services have moved to the Des Moines Police Academy on the city's south side. Guhl said the measures are still just a precaution at this point.
